Now is the Time

I’m sickened, disgusted, and angry!  As I view the graphic pictures and read the associated stories of abortionists Kermit Gosnell and, Douglas Karpen, and again here,  I nearly weep. I cannot believe what is before me.  It’s like a nightmare.  But it isn’t.  It is real! The images of the tiny infants were once breathing, kicking, struggling to live after botched abortions; the back of their necks then slit and “snipped” to cause immediate death - it’s too much!  “Oh, dear Jesus, what can I do to help end this evil?”

Since the end of our 2013 spring 40 Days for Life Campaign, my heart has been stirred.  Intensifying this movement of heart, co-writers, Michelle McIntyre and R. Clayton Strang at Life of the Party blog have published several thought-provoking and moving articles.  Abortion has been “legal” in America since the January 22, 1973 U.S Supreme Court abortion decision.  Abortionists killed an estimated 55 million unborn children over the past 40 years.  Twice Washington State voted to give thumbs up to this barbaric act, abortion.  Really!  “Are we serious about eradicating abortion? I wonder, ARE we?”

How long are we going to allow neighborhood “health clinics” like Planned Parenthood to slaughter our unborn sisters and brothers?  A recent National Right to Life survey found 55% of Americans did not know Planned Parenthood performs abortions.   As a people, “we don’t get it, yet.”  Although the high profile cases of Gosnell and Karpen are receiving Internet visibility, abortion occurs daily in cities across America.  “Seriously, we just do not get it!” But wait…

To be fair, I need to acknowledge and thank the great work hundreds of pro-life ministries involving thousands of saints who have already been defending the unborn, while supporting their moms, too.  In no specific order, pregnancy resource centers (PRC), Pregnancy Aid, Angelorum/Next Step Pregnancy Services, Helpers of God’s Precious Infants, Prolife Washington, Human Life of Washington, Seattle Helpers, Project Rachel, Silent No More Awareness, Gabriel Project, 4US, 40 Days for Life, Priests for Life, and a multitude of fraternal organizations, such as the Knights of Columbus, Catholic Daughters of America, and Concerned Women of America.

What can I do, what can we do to help end this evil? Pray to the Holy Spirit for guidance and an open heart.  Contact a local pregnancy resource center or pro-life ministry.  Pray in front of the nearest abortion facility that the doctors and staff have a change of heart and leave the abortion industry.  Pray for those who enter these health clinics seeking contraceptives or abortion; pray they also have a change of heart.

"Now is the time."  Now is the time to end abortion!  Holy Spirit, touch and move our hearts.  Awaken us! Help us end abortion today.  Thank you, Jesus.

Pro-choice advocates claim abortion is safe, legal, and rare ; not completely true. Patience, Perseverence, Prayer
