Safe, Legal, and Rare: Seriously! January 22, 2019

Pro-choice advocates claim abortion is safe, legal, and rare; not completely true. Pregnancy termination is certainly legal in the U.S.  Yet, this barbaric procedure still extracts a real cost, not in dollars, but human lives.

More than 60 million abortions were performed in America since January 22, 1973 when the U.S. Supreme Court ruled abortion legal in all nine months of pregnancy.
Planned Parenthood terminated 321,384 pregnancies in just one year according to its most recent annual report for 2016 to 2017.  Washington abortionists committed nearly 19,230 abortions in 2014 as stated by Planned Parenthood’s research arm, Guttmacher Institute, representing 2.1% of all abortions in the United States.

Operation Rescue, a national pro-life organization, tracks the appalling human stories silently left behind following legal abortion. Their website Abortion911.com is dedicated to proving that “abortion is not safe” as medical emergencies accounted for a minimum of roughly 275 women being transported to hospitals. Six women in Washington were maimed by abortionists.

Life Dynamics, whose mission is to end legalized abortion in America and restore legal protection to the unborn, documents 250 women who died at the hands of callous abortionists. Thirty-three were under age 18; two were just 13 years old. After an abortion, M.Ortega-Rodriguez, age 23, died on Jan 18,2016. Tanya Reaves, age 24, entered a Chicago, IL Planned Parenthood to obtain a legal abortion on July 12, 2012; she later died as well.

Operation Rescue and Life Dynamics investigators draw their information from the actual 911 recordings, Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) available through Open Record laws. Further, photographs, autopsy reports, state medical boards & inspection reports, malpractice suits, and death certificates backup reporting of medical emergencies.

Medical emergencies uncovered: hemorrhages; vaginal, uterine punctures,  lacerations, and tears; overdoses, sepsis, severe abdominal pain, non-breathing, unresponsiveness, high fever, seizures, incomplete abortions, and those medical emergencies resulting in death.

“Abortion just isn’t safe. Certainly it is fatal for the baby, but women also risk their lives at shoddy abortion clinics, as we have seen over and over,” said Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue. “ Spokane, Washington 4/28/2015
“I was left with an incredible feeling of sorrow to have witnessed this event.  We know that babies die there (Planned Parenthood) on a regular basis and women are hurt during every abortion but there is never any formal public recognition of that,” said Mary Emanuel, Abortion in Washington, blogger.
Consider Albuquerque, New Mexico between November, 2008 and December, 2009: eight women were rushed to hospitals due to botched abortions. In addition, late-term abortionist Shelley Sella faced a New Mexico Medical Board hearing after a woman suffered a ruptured uterus during a 35 week full term abortion.
A Falls Church, VA abortion facility, Falls Church Healthcare Center, incurred 13 pages of violations on November 17, 2016 in the most recent inspection report. Further violations were found in a 33-page document dated June 12, 2018.
“The abortionist cannot hide his dirty work behind ‘sheets of shame.’ While we only see a small fraction of the abortion injuries inflicted upon women, the truth about unsafe clinics and shoddy abortionists continues to come out,” said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman.
Operation Rescue obtained the 911 recording from a September 16, 2015 incident at Planned Parenthood in Spokane, WA. The caller hesitated when asked by the 911 dispatcher what happened. “Um, uh, uterine perforation,” the Planned Parenthood caller said.
